This Reminds Me of an Old Joke

An article on CNN.com this morning had the headline:
"Fiorina: Palin Doesn't Have Experience to Run a Major Company"

Carly Fiorina formerly ran Hewlett Packard. She was asked whether Palin had the experience to run a company like Hewlett Packard. She said that Palin does not have experience for something like that, but that is not what she is running for. She went on to say that McCain, Obama and Biden also don't have enough experience to run a company like Hewlett Packard. Finally, Fiorina said that Palin has more executive experience than Obama.

But look at the headline. Is that really what Fiorina was saying?

Here's the old joke:

President Bush and the Pope go out sailing. The Pope's pointy hat falls off and into the water. President Bush says, "Don't worry, Father. I'll get your hat."
President Bush gets out of the boat, walks across the water to the hat, picks it up, walks back and hands the hat to the Pope.

The headline in the newspapers the next day:
President Bush Cannot Swim

Typical liberal media tactics. It's like on Super Tuesday when the reporters told us they were done for the night and we Mitt Romney campaigners could go home. Then Furnell Chatman reported on live TV that we left because we'd had a bad night. Sure, we'd had a bad night, but that wasn't why we left.

By the way, I have not watched local news since that night. It's pretty sad that you can't trust the media to get it right because of their leftist agenda. But it's always been that the media has had an agenda. It's just more obvious now in the days of the 24-hour news cycle.

Here's another example of what you're talking about. It's an article/interview with actor Patrick Wilson about Lakeview Terrace and Watchmen. The headline makes it sound like one quote was a major part of the interview when it was actually tucked in at the end.
